Pop-Up Care Villages
The Greater Seacoast Pop-Up Care Villages (PUCV) are monthly events designed to meet the basic needs of homeless and housing-insecure individuals while offering pathways to long-term stability. Inspired by the farmers market model, these pop-up villages rotate across Rockingham and Strafford counties in New Hampshire and Southern York County in Maine, ensuring broader access to essential services.

Homelessness and housing insecurity can be isolating. Our PUCVs foster a welcoming, safe space for:
Free meals, entertainment, and activities
Trust-building and social connection
Addressing Barriers to Access
The PUCVs were developed based on input from local service providers and outreach efforts. Our goal is to overcome the common challenges faced by vulnerable populations:
Transportation & Efficiency Barriers
Consolidating basic and advancement services in one accessible location removes the need for individuals to travel between multiple resource providers.
Referral & Access Barriers
Unlike other services that may require referrals or proof of residency, the PUCVs remove these hurdles, allowing anyone in need to access resources without additional documentation.
Building Trust
By creating a welcoming environment, the PUCVs encourage re-engagement with local organizations, even for those who may have had negative experiences in the past.
Beyond Pamphlets
Instead of merely distributing information, we focus on tangible services. Organizations can conduct intakes, schedule appointments, and offer direct assistance on-site.
A Data-Driven Approach
Each event also plays a critical role in collecting data about unhoused and housing-insecure community members. This information:
Provides local insights into unmet needs
Supports funding applications for service providers
Strengthens partnerships with municipalities, helping align resources with real needs
By listening to the voices of those we serve, we can develop more effective, community-driven solutions.
